Today, the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone of the Yardam
inclusive center took place in the Moskovsky district of Kazan. The new
facility will become part of a complex operating at the Yardam Mosque. The
two–storey building with an area of 3,000 square meters will be equipped with a
specialized swimming pool with a hydraulic lift, classrooms, a medical unit
with treatment rooms and other facilities for the rehabilitation of disabled
people - visually impaired and with diseases of the musculoskeletal system from
all over Russia.
The solemn event began with the reading of the Koran and prayer. Ilsur
Metshin congratulated the rehabilitators and the management of the Yardam
Center on a significant event.
“The Yardam Mosque is the most wonderful and successful project in which
I have taken part. In the new inclusive center, where there will be a swimming
pool and a medical unit, disabled people will be able to improve their health.
But the most important thing is strengthening spirit and faith,”- said the
Mayor of Kazan.
Ilsur Metshin and Chairman of the Board of the Yardam-Help National
Charitable Foundation Ildar Bayazitov laid a time capsule to mark the beginning
of the construction of the Yardam Inclusive Center.
The project of the new inclusive center was developed by
Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt together with the Kazan City Development Institute. The
pool will be equipped with a hydraulic lift, handrails, a ladder and an
anti-slip coating with tactile pointers. Changing rooms and bathrooms will also
be equipped. There will be also classrooms, treatment rooms, and a security
point.
The decision to build it was made due to the large demand from disabled
people. To date, up to 18 people are applying for one place. Ildar Bayazitov
thanked the head of the city for assistance in the construction of the center.
The rehabilitation center of the Yardam-Help Foundation was built in
2013. The building located next to the mosque has all the necessary conditions:
a hostel, a canteen, computer classes, a library, a printing office.
In total, more than 21 thousand people with disabilities have been
treated at the center, including the blind, deaf and dumb, wheelchair users,
with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy. Thus, blind people in the center are taught
writing and reading according to the Louis Braille system, computer literacy,
various crafts and professions.
In 2022, the first specialized sports complex for children and adults
with disabilities was opened on the territory of the Yardam Mosque. 500 people
can train daily in a two-storey building with an area of 1,200 square meters.
And in 2023, work began on the construction of a boulevard along Serova
Street. This year, it is planned to complete work during the first stage on the
section from the mosque to the reservoir. There will be 12 functional areas for
people with disabilities on the territory: children's playgrounds, functional
areas aimed at stimulating the senses and more.
