I think it is no news that international competition to develop the concept of the waterfront of Kaban Lake finished in Kazan. It is a great honor for our city to host such a large-scale competition among architectural firms from around the world. It is important to think not only about everyday topical issues of improvement of Kazan, but also about the long term prospects of the development of the city. What the next generation of Kazan citizens - our children, grandchildren - will see is created today, including through such competitions.

I am confident that the works of the finalists will give new impetus to the transformation and development of the public spaces of the capital of Tatarstan. We got the ideas of ​​professional experts, who participated in the creation of image of the most famous cities. This will allow us to leave the "shell", to go beyond the standard thinking and to prove again that Kazan is a platform on which most creative solutions can be implemented. I am glad that with all its boldness projects take into account the priorities of Kazan - high quality of life of our citizens, preservation of the city's history and its unique ecological features. I am sure that this competition is another significant breakthrough to a new, transformed capital of Tatarstan.
