Ilsur Metshin comments on the development of public spaces in the city

Together with the citizens I rejoice at the development of Kazan. Only a short time ago we couldn’t even dream of the construction of public spaces in the city, of reaching the river or joint the quays by the system of bicycle paths and pedestrian routes. By now we achieved the level when we are ready to start discussing this issue.

We learnt to design and construct sports venues in such a way that other constituent entities of the Russian Federation ask for our experience. We learnt to construct interchanges, crosswalks, roads and social facilities. But as far as the public space is concerned, which includes quays, bicycle paths and utilities among individual parts of the city, this issue we will have to study thoroughly. That is why we will involve the best experts and top specialists to save out time and not to learn the hard way but to apply at once the best world concepts. This will help us take a fresh look at the development of city public spaces and expand our thinking horizons, and help Kazan become even more attractive for tourists from all over the world.
