Ilsur Metshin proposed to organize direct air Kazan - Helsinki
This Mayor Kazan said today at the presentation of the 2013 Universiade to delegation of the Republic of Finland in Kazan City Hall.
Representative delegation of Finland arrived in Kazan, headed by the minister of foreign trade and development Mr Paavo Vyayuryunen. In the Kazan City Hall visitors were welcomed by state advisor of President of RT on international questions Timur Akulov, first deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Boris Pavlov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other officials.
The Mayor has warmly welcomed the delegation of Finland in Kazan. Mayor of Kazan thanked the guests of the capital of Tatarstan for their good attitude toward the Tatars living in Suomi. According to the governor, a brief visit to Finland has made him particularly impressed with a visit to the best school in the world, where incidentally works a teacher from Kazan. Meanwhile Kazan teacher Pavel Shmakov was named the best in this the world's best school.
Ilsur Metshin told guests from Finland about the upcoming program of education reform in Tatarstan aimed, in particular, to return the glory of Kazan as the educational center. The Mayor expressed his hope that after the implementation of the presidential program level of development of local science and education will rise so much that he will be using a mobile phone of Kazan's production, but not like now - phone «Nokia» (Finland). Ilsur Metshin also initiated the organization of direct flights between Kazan and Helsinki.
In his speech Ilsur Metshin also elaborated on the preparations for the World Student Games, which will be held in Kazan in 2013. According to the Mayor, in the days of the Summer Universiade-2013 Kazan will receive about 15 thousands of competitors from 170 countries - it is roughly four times the number of athletes at the Winter Olympics.
The governor noted that in addition to construction of new sport objects for the Universiade-2013 in the city is also actively develop the transport infrastructure. He expressed the hope that the Finnish colleagues can share the experience of building highway interchanges.
After the speech of the Mayor of Kazan the presentation of Universiady-2013 in capital of Tatarstan was in English presented by the mayor of Village of games Farid Abdulganiev. To guests also was shown one of the commercials produced in Kazan during the struggle for the right to accept the World Student Games in 2013.
In response Paavo Vyayuryunen noted that more than 20 companies, whose representatives arrived on a visit to Kazan, interested in cooperation with the republic. In particular, the Finnish side presented projects for building of block "B", construction of reproduction center, supply of equipment for sports facilities, etc.
Toward the close of the meeting the Mayor of Kazan presented Mr. Vyayuryunen Tatar national costume - dressing gown and a skull cap "tubetejka".
