The first inclusive multi-format center for teenagers with autism
spectrum disorders «Krylia» has opened on Golubyatnikova Street in Kazan. The
project was developed by ANO «Good Kazan», in close collaboration with the
community of parents of special children, who also received the opportunity to
work here. The center features a training apartment, psychological office,
blogging room, and sports rehabilitation center. The opening of this new
inclusive space was attended by Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, and Ilya
Chukalin, the Director General of the Presidential Grants Fund.
«It all started four years ago when I met with the parents of special
needs children. We learned about their challenges in educating and caring for
their children. A parent's love and desire to teach is not enough. We decided
to create centers where children can learn basic skills and receive support.
Specially trained professionals and parents work together to ensure that each
child gets the attention and care they need», - I.Metshin said.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor, noted that thanks to these educational and
training centers, children are able to socialize and learn. There are now five
such facilities in the city. «Despite the progress we have made, but we are
still at the beginning of this journey. There is still much work to be done».
Ilsur Metshin expressed his gratitude to representatives of the city
business community, concerned residents, the ANO «Good Kazan», as well as the
Presidential Grants Fund, represented by Ilya Chukalin. Thanks to their
support, the infrastructure for inclusive spaces has been created in the
capital of Tatarstan. «Each such center
costs tens of millions of rubles. The city budget and support from the
presidential fund alone are not sufficient. However, we work together and do
good deeds together. Thanks to this, children are able to socialize and parents
are not left alone», - the Mayor noted.
