Outdoor
furniture, navigation signs, and sports equipment made from recycled plastic
will be installed in the yard in the Privolzhsky city district. Residents of
houses on 3, 5, and 7 Professor Kamaya Street collected 190 kilograms of
recyclable materials and transferred them for recycling. They joined the renovation
program of their houses, and decided to improve their yard together with the property
management company. Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of the work in these
houses and supported the initiative of the residents. He promised that those
residents who collect plastic will receive it back in the form of small
architectural forms.
The head of
the district administration, Albert Salikhov, told Ilsur Metshin that
residential buildings on 3, 5 and 7 Professor Kamaya Street were built in 1971
and 1972, among the first in the Gorky residential area. Today, they are
undergoing renovation. In house 3, the front, heating, drainage, cold water
supply and electrical systems are being updated. The basement, entrances and
roof are also being repaired. In house number 7, the front, basement,
entrances, heating, water supply, and sanitation system will be renovated. Four
new lifts will be installed as well. Two more were replaced last year. These
lifts, of domestic production, meet all safety standards and are equipped with
energy-efficient equipment. They are also equipped with Braille buttons.
While
working in one of the entrances of house № 3, the builders removed old paint and
found children's drawings on the walls. The residents said that in their youth,
they and their children had decorated the entrance this way. They decided to
continue this tradition and added new drawings to the walls.
In 2022,
the yard of these three houses was landscaped under to the program of Rais
(Head) of Tatarstan. New paths were laid, two playgrounds and a football pitch
were installed, and a separate garbage collection area was created. This year,
the property management company will conduct additional landscaping - a sports
area and an expanded playground with new swings will be installed, as well as
lawns, flower pots and birdhouses.
The main
feature of the yard will be outdoor furniture and sports equipment made from
recycled plastic. This recycling campaign was organized by the property management
company, 190 kilograms of plastic were collected from residents and sent it to
the Qullar Company for processing. The company produced chairs, a basketball
hoop, a hammock, bookshelf, sunbed, and ball rack for the playground from the
recycled material.
Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, instructed Deputy Head of the Executive Committee
Iskander Giniyatullin to expand this initiative to other yards. He emphasized
that this is a positive initiative that should not only be supported but also
communicated to residents.
“Those who
will collect plastic, we get it back in the form of small architectural forms –
benches, urns, sports equipment. We will definitely support and encourage
active residents of the houses. We visited the Qullar enterprise – caring young
people work there. I believe there will be many options for outdoor furniture
that can be made from recycled plastic, while entrepreneurs are flexible in
their approach to orders and will be able to adapt to the requirements of
residents,” the Mayor said.
