The largest children's park in the republic and the renovated Fuchs
Garden will be opened in Kazan on the Day of the City and the Republic. This was
announced by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin during a visiting meeting. Two
green sites will be connected by a pedestrian path – at the request of
residents, the existing granite staircase will be expanded to three meters.
Unique play equipment will be installed at the children's park, a green maze
will be laid, about 500 trees and four thousand shrubs will be planted, and two
thousand perennial grasses will be planted in the Fuchs Garden.
“In addition to the improvement of existing green areas, every year, under
the program of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, we try to find
new territories for parks and squares. Last year, we started landscaping a
vacant lot in the Moskovsky city district, where a green boulevard will appear
along Serova Street. And this year, on the banks of the Kazanka River, we will
open a completely new park. It will be dedicated to children and will be the
largest in Tatarstan,”- Ilsur Metshin said.
Currently, green spaces are being planted in the children's park, where
construction started in October 2023. The workers of the Gorvodzelenkhoz
carried out landscaping by 55%. The new public space will be decorated with a
green maze with a length of 540 m, about 500 trees and four thousand shrubs.
Six lamps will be installed next to the green maze to illuminate the space in
the evening. It will be possible to walk through the maze throughout the year –
in winter, the territory will be decorated with coniferous trees of five
species.
“We are building the largest playground in Tatarstan on the Kazanka
River embankment. It will be located on an area of four hectares. The
children's park will be equipped with unique equipment. A special feature of
the park will be a green maze with a length of 540 meters,”- Ilsur Metshin
noted.
The project of the playground is being developed by the Moscow
architectural bureau “Chekharda”. Ilsur Metshin was presented with game routes:
natural science “River Life”, nature preserving “Ecology” and historical “River
tells stories”. On interactive platforms, children will be able to get
acquainted with the history of their native land, learn about the Kazanka River
and its inhabitants, as well as learn how to properly dispose of waste.
The children's park will be equipped with play and recreation areas, a
multifunctional pavilion and fountain. In addition, a children's cafe with
healthy food will be opened on the territory.
To date, the construction of the park has been completed by 58.1%. For
reference, after the landscaping, up to eight thousand people will be able to
visit the public space every day.
Fuchs Garden is supposed to be a green area of quiet relaxation – 25
benches, eight chairs, four tables, 15 urns will be installed on the territory.
Four more pouf benches will be located next to the flower modules. Stands will
provide information about the personality of Professor of Kazan University,
physician and botanist Karl Fuchs and the history of public space.
