This year’s third shipment of humanitarian cargo was sent from Kazan to
Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye. Three trucks with food, medicines, construction
materials, as well as work wear with a total weight of 65 tons were prepared
for residents of cities supported by Tatarstan. Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin
inspected the shipment of cargo collected by Tatarstan residents and enterprises
and staffed by the Good Kazan Foundation.
“Since the beginning of the special military operation, we have shipped
fifteen humanitarian convoys with almost 1,500 tons of cargo to the residents
of Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye. Previously, these were essential goods, but now
construction is underway in cities, life is getting better, residents are
starting to return to their homes. At first, we collected mainly only
medicines, glass, polyethylene, and now we are sending special construction
materials that are necessary for the restoration of cities. Food and medicines
are still part of the cargo, but the list of necessary goods is changing,”- the
head of the city said.
In a conversation with the Mayor, truck drivers noted that Lisichansk
and Rubezhnoye have really transformed recently thanks to the support provided
by Kazan and Tatarstan. According to them, residents are not only renovating
their homes, but also helping to build up urban facilities. Ilsur Metshin
wished the truckers a safe trip.
Now residents of Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye are in particular need of
building materials and components to ensure the smooth operation of urban
facilities, electricity and water supply networks, and heating. Thus, steel and
polypropylene pipes, building mixes, radiators, electrodes were sent for the
repair of utilities, and roofing materials and sheet material were used for the
restoration of urban facilities.
Food products (canned meat, groceries, sweets, cereals), household
chemicals and work wear will also be delivered to the Luhansk People's
Republic. The Council of Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan
collected a batch of medicines weighing 126 kg (antibiotics, painkillers,
antipyretics).
Residents and enterprises of Kazan traditionally took part in the
collecting of the humanitarian convoy. In total, since the beginning of the
special military operation, ANO Good Kazan and the Kazan Executive Committee have
sent 1,483 tons of cargo on 78 trucks to the Luhansk People’s Republic. The
last shipment was in May – special assistance was collected for the fighters from
Tatarstan.
