The BRICS summit will
be attended by representatives from 30 countries, as well as several
international organizations, including the United Nations. During the staff
meeting, the Mayor Ilsur Metshin expressed gratitude to the President of Russia
for his confidence in Kazan to host the event and assured that preparations
would continue.
«In a few days, Kazan
will host a major political event – the BRICS Summit.
The preparations have reached the final stages. Advanced teams and protocol
services for the leaders of the participating countries visit all venues. For
three days, Kazan will be the center of attention for this important political
event, and the attention of the entire world will be focused on us. Countries
united by the idea of a multipolar world will gather to discuss the future of
the world order. The significance of these three days cannot be overstated» – said the head of the city.
The Mayor noted that
thanks to events in Kazan, investment in the city's infrastructure has
increased. He reminded that 18 parks and squares would be landscaped in Kazan. «There
are no recurring sites among the newly renovated areas, each has its own unique
history, design, and architecture. We have come a long way. Five years ago,
there was a different level of implementation, but today it has reached a
completely different level. This level has been appreciated by residents», – he said.
The boulevard along
Serova Street has been renovated in the Moskovsky city district. In the
Novo-Savinovsky district, work is being completed on the territory near Bolshoye
Chaikovoye Lake. 6,500 plants have been planted in the square of the 100th
anniversary of the construction industry in Tatarstan.
56 thousand trees and
41 thousand shrubs have been planted on the streets. Flower beds have been laid
out on 15,000 square meters. Cable lines have been replaced on 26 kilometers,
over a thousand poles and 3,700 lights have been replaced. Work has also been
carried out on Bulak Bay, where the fountain complex has been renovated. Road sections,
staircases, and retaining walls have been repaired. Elevators have been
replaced in six crossings, as well as 52 kilometers of networks have been
renewed.
The city has received
100 new buses and will soon receive 39 more cable buses. «No doubt, this is an
important and necessary development for the city. This is the result of every
international event and serves as an intangible legacy for the residents. It is
a reflection of the city's authority, recognition, and investors' desire to
invest in a developing city that hosts major international events and attracts
tourists, leading to economic growth. Most importantly, it represents the pride
and confidence of the city and its residents in themselves and their future», – the Mayor noted.
