Presentation of Kazan as candidate-city for Universiade-2013 takes place in Brussels
Chairman of the Committee for External Relations and Tourism of Kazan executive committee – executive director of the application campaign Vladimir Leonov hosted the presentation. Kazan delegation has demonstrated a presentation video, which consists of 3 five-minute-long mini-films. A team of professionals headed by Hollywood film-maker Rupert Wainwright worked on this video.
Vice-Premier of Russian Government Alexander Zhukov informed FISU executive committee members that the federal government guarantees full support to Kazan in preparation and organization of the Universiade if the city wins. “FISU members’ requirement concerning the Universiade will be fulfilled,” he stated.
Besides, he promised simplified visa procedures for all participants of the Universiade-2013, opportunities for FISU executive committee member to visit Russia any time and also visa-free access for the Games-2013 supporters.
Russian Vice-Premier also guaranteed fulfillment of all financial obligations that are necessary for preparation and organization of the games. Security of all sportsmen, participants and guests of the Universiade-2013 will be taken care about.
“We want the Universiade-2013 to become an event we can be proud of,” Alexander Zhukov summed up.
Vice-President of Russian Olympic Committee Viktor Hotochkin, Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, representatives of Tatarstan students Irina Shadrina and Kamila Bagavieva made speeches during the presentation.
After the presentation of Kazan, Alexander Zhukov answered journalists’ questions. He said that main advantage of Kazan is that Tatarstan capital “is ready to host the Universiade even tomorrow”. Besides, Mr Zhukov pointed out that this city is very hospitable.
People of Tatarstan will have a chance to see the moment when the winner in the bid for hosting the World Summer Universiade-2013 will be announced. Online broadcast will be available at Tatar-inform web-site and TNV TV-channel.
