Ilsur Metshin receives memorable symbols of Universiade-2013
Oleg Matytsin thanked the team that prepared presentation of Kazan for FISU commission.
According to his words, a break between the Olympics in Sochi and the summer Universiade in Kazan will last about half a year. The Universiade is even a larger event that the Olympic Games, comparing number of participants. The organizing committee of the Universiade must be formed and confirmed in half a year. Then wide-scale works on organization of the Universiade in Kazan will begin.
“I’d like to wish you success, strength, and wisdom. Preserve the spirit of collectivism and solidarity that was demonstrated during the application campaign of Kazan in the bid for hosting the Universiade-2013,” Oleg Matytsin said.
Ilsur Metshin said that preparation for the Universiade-2013 began on the next day after victory of Kazan. The city delegation met with organizing committee of the Olympics-2014 in Sochi. Meetings with Spanish architects who participated in preparation for the Olympics-1992 in Barcelona were arranged. “We don’t have much time. Five years is not enough, but Kazan will accomplish its task successfully,” he stated.
